Terms of service

Last updated: June 28, 2026

Welcome to Demetrius Couture. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of demetriuscouture.com, including any content, functionality, consultations, and services offered on or through the site (collectively, the "Services"), operated by Demetrius Couture ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, browsing our site, booking a consultation, or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. If there is a conflict between these Terms and our Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

1. Who We Are

Demetrius Couture is a luxury fashion brand specializing in bespoke and special-occasion designs, including custom bridal gowns, custom prom dresses, and ready-to-wear pieces. Every custom piece is made specifically for the client based on their measurements, design preferences, fabric choice, and event needs.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the Services or place an order. By using the Services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Consultations

A consultation is required before any custom design work begins. Consultations help us understand your vision, measurements, fabric preferences, and event timeline, and may be conducted in person or virtually for clients outside the local area.

Consultation fees:

  • £50 for Custom Dress and Prom Dress consultations
  • £100 for Bridal consultations

Consultation fees are non-refundable. If you proceed with an order following your consultation, the fee paid will be deducted from the final cost of your dress.

Booking a consultation does not guarantee a specific delivery date, design outcome, or price until confirmed in writing following your consultation.

4. Custom Orders and the Design Process

4.1 Pricing

Custom dress pricing is provided as a guide only and is confirmed in full only after your consultation and final design selection. As a general guide:

  • £500–£1,500 — simpler silhouettes, light detailing, minimal embellishment
  • £1,500–£2,500 — detailed beading, structured corsets, detachable pieces, or luxury fabrics
  • £2,500+ — fully beaded gowns, dramatic silhouettes, or highly detailed couture work

Final pricing depends on fabric choice, level of beading or appliqué, structural elements (corsetry, boning, built-in cups), detachable parts (skirts, sleeves, capes, trains), and any custom fabric sourcing required.

4.2 Production Timelines

We offer the following indicative timelines, depending on design complexity and current availability:

  • Standard: 8–12 weeks (recommended)
  • Rush: 4–6 weeks (additional rush fee of 10%–15% applies, depending on design complexity)
  • Ultra Rush: 2–3 weeks (limited availability, subject to confirmation)

Timelines begin once your order is confirmed, your deposit is received, and all required information (measurements, fabric selection, design approval) has been provided. Delays in providing this information may extend your delivery date. While we make every reasonable effort to meet agreed timelines, dates given before production begins are estimates and not guaranteed delivery dates.

4.3 Original Designs

We do not produce exact copies of another designer's work. We may create an original design inspired by a preferred style, silhouette, or detail, adapted to be unique to you. You agree not to request, and we reserve the right to decline, any order that asks us to replicate a specific third party's copyrighted or trademarked design.

4.4 Changes After Production Begins

Minor changes may be possible depending on how far production has progressed. Major design changes requested after production has begun may incur an additional fee and may extend the production timeline. We will confirm any such fee or timeline change with you before proceeding.

5. Payment, Deposits, and Cancellations

5.1 Deposits

A deposit is required to confirm and begin work on any custom order. Deposits secure your production slot, materials, and design preparation time, and are non-refundable.

5.2 Balance Payment

The remaining balance is due as agreed at the time of order confirmation, and in any event before the completed item is shipped or collected.

5.3 Cancellations

If you cancel a custom order after it has been confirmed, any deposit paid is non-refundable. Where production has already started, we may invoice for materials purchased and work completed beyond the deposit amount.

5.4 Right to Cancel (Bespoke and Made-to-Measure Items)

Because each custom piece is made to your individual specification, custom and made-to-measure orders are generally not eligible for the statutory 14-day cancellation right that applies to standard off-the-shelf goods under UK consumer protection law. This does not affect your right to a remedy if an item is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose.

5.5 Ready-to-Wear Items

Where you purchase a ready-to-wear (non-custom) item directly through the site, standard UK distance-selling cancellation rights may apply unless the item has been personalized for you. Details on returns for ready-to-wear items are available on request or, where published, on our policies pages.

6. Shipping and Delivery

For clients located outside our local consultation area, virtual consultations can be arranged, and shipping of the completed item may be arranged where needed. Shipping costs, carriers, and estimated delivery times will be confirmed with you separately and are not included in the dress price unless stated otherwise. Risk of loss or damage in transit passes to you on delivery to the shipping carrier, except where required otherwise by law.

7. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, or restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of, the Services by any third party. You must not:

  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services;
  • use the Services to transmit any unlawful, harassing, or harmful material;
  • copy, reproduce, or exploit any content from the site without our written permission.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Services, including designs, photographs, text, graphics, logos, and the "Demetrius Couture" name and branding, is owned by or licensed to Demetrius Couture and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute this content without our prior written consent.

Sketches, patterns, and designs created for your custom order remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing, even though the finished garment belongs to you once paid for in full.

9. Third-Party Services

Our site uses Shopify to power checkout and order processing, and Setmore to power consultation booking. Your use of these third-party tools is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party platforms linked from our site.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services and any products or designs supplied are provided "as is" and "as available." While we take great care in the craftsmanship of every piece, we do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that colors, fabrics, or finishes will appear identical to digital images shown on the site, as variation can occur due to screen display, lighting, fabric dye lots, and handmade construction. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under UK consumer law that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Demetrius Couture shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services or any order placed with us, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment of an event, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, in cases of death, personal injury, or fraud caused by our negligence). Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Demetrius Couture harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available in your country of residence.
